About Me
My professional career has spanned nearly 25 years; most recently with eight years as the Director (Chief Executive) of a national legal charity. Prior to that I practiced as a solicitor specialising in public law with a focus on access to justice. I worked in both the private and not-for-profit sectors and was widely recognised for my skill at running complex impactful public interest litigation. I have designed a number of innovative and successful socio-legal projects and delivered training to a wide range of audiences. I also have varied experience at Board level.
The move into coaching and consultancy was a natural professional evolution for me. I found coaching played a powerful role in my own development, supporting me to greater self-awareness and compassion and markedly better leadership. It strengthened my strategic thinking and helped me to act with intention and integrity. As a coach myself now I enjoy working with individuals and teams to reflect creatively, explore their challenges and realise their potential. I take a similarly reflective approach to my organisational consultancy practice. My primary interest is in supporting sustainable ethical leadership and I am able to draw on my considerable experience and sound theoretic knowledge to do so.
I am credentialed with the International Coaching Federation as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC). I follow an ethical systemic approach, actively participate in the 'Eco-leadership Institute' community, and engage in regular peer supervision.
On a personal level, I find inspiration in books, rivers, and the natural world, including in the ebb and flow of seasons and cycles. I have two school-age kids, and an annoying dog. I am currently enjoying/hating attempting to write a book.

We think together about a range of issues including decision making, strategic planning and personal impact. I work with individuals and organisations to explore and address issues including performance, stress, disenchantment, burnout, and work-life balance, considering both personal agency and systemic pressures.
Leadership Development: I work with individuals, teams and organisations to deliver training and facilitate discussion to enhance shared potential for ethical, impactful leadership in service of the common good. I am particularly influenced by the Eco Leadership discourse conceptualised by Dr Simon Western.

I work with individuals and organisations who want to make a positive difference in the world, including NGOs and Charities, lawyers, advisers and others in the justice sector, public sector professionals, sustainable and ethically-driven business leaders and activists, individuals and grassroots movements.
How I work
At the outset of a contract I co-design processes with clients to ensure our creative engagement with the things they want to think about to a timescale that feels both workable and meaningful. My practice is informed by eclectic reading across a range of subjects including leadership theory, neuroscience, philosophy, and psychology.
I offer coaching sessions by Zoom as well as face to face and, where practical, I can offer walking meetings in parks or other green spaces. I am based in the Southeast and regularly work in London. Sessions are commonly 60 or 90 minutes long once a fortnight or once a month for an agreed period. Other consultancy and training sessions can be delivered in person or remotely, depending upon the client's requirements.
I donate a minimum of 10% of my annual profits to charity, this year to Doctors Without Borders, Friends of the Earth and Medical Aid for Palestinians.
